MCLDT Trustee Recruitment
Manchester Central Library Trust – the charity that supports Library Live – is recruiting new Trustees. They are interested in hearing from people with a broad range of skills and experience, and are keen to diversify the current Board.
Manchester Central Library Development Trust (registered charity no. 1150161) recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Working with Manchester Libraries, it supports its cultural and educational activities, and physical improvements like venue refurbishments and upgrades to facilities. It supported Central Library’s last major transformation, raising funds for new furniture and equipment, and educational and cultural programming, helping the venue become a popular and lively destination, with a varied programme that promotes reading and supports developing artists, creatives and entrepreneurs.
They are now looking to expand and diversify the Board by recruiting new Trustees (Directors) to help govern the charity, help them pursue their charitable objectives, and be advocates for Manchester Libraries. Trustees bring a mix of professional skills and backgrounds from within and outside the libraries and cultural sector. They make decisions collectively, in close partnership with the needs of Manchester Libraries.
The Trust welcome applications from people with various skills, abilities and experience, and are particularly interested in hearing from younger people. Potential candidates should have a keen interest in libraries, learning, reading and culture, and be committed to inclusion and equality.
