Delia Derbyshire Day returns to Manchester Central Library for 2026
Honouring the work of the electronic pioneer and BBC Radiophonic Workshop icon, expect a relaxed community gathering at the Henry Watson Music Library.
This year’s Delia Derbyshire Day offers a mixture of
creative activities, opportunities to explore Delia’s archive, have a nerdy chat with the people behind the day, a pop-up shop, and especially themed cake!
The session will also provide an introduction to the brand new recording pod and production studio in Henry Watson Music Library – due to be installed this Autumn. Led by women working in experimental electronic music in Manchester, this will be a unique opportunity to get to know the shiny new recording space at HWML in a supportive environment.*
Join us for a gathering of friendly people passionate about electronic music and experimental music making, practicing the Delia Derbyshire Day charity’s values of curiosity, creativity, collaboration and openness.
All welcome, age 18+.
This is a free event. Just drop in!
*Please be aware these will be taster sessions of around 20 minutes with maximum 2 visitors in the studio at one time, so we cannot guarantee access to the studio if it’s really busy.
