SUMMARY:A History of Pies and Puddings
DESCRIPTION:Explore the history of some our most beloved British foods with local food historian Neil Buttery: pies and puddings\, from their rather posh origins to the present day\, where they are beloved by all (and treated with suspicion by some). Both have a fascinating and rather convoluted history\, and Neil will talk you through the rather surprising paths they have meandered through the centuries. \nNeil will also present some of his research on regional foods: Manchester pudding\, Yorkshire pudding haggis and Cornish pasties (expect a bombshell!) as well as some foods which were eaten all year round but are associated with Christmas today\, including plum pudding and mince pies. \n \nTickets are free and available to book below.
