DESCRIPTION:Manchester Libraries and Flapjack Press present Word Central Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word.\nHosted by Tony Curry with special guest Ben Willems.\n\nOur special guest for the first Word Central of the year is beat-inspired performance poet Ben Willems. Ben has featured in numerous publications\, including Citizen 32\, The Recusant\, Beatification and Some Roast Poet\, as well as appearing in Flapjack Press’s The People’s Republic of Mancunia. Since 2013\, he has been working on a collection of poems for all of Greater Manchester’s railway stations and expects this to be finished around 2040. \nYou can book your open mic slot from noon on Tuesday 11th January via mail@flapjackpress.co.uk.\nN.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer. Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking day. If they are already filled you will be offered a space on the reserve list.
