DESCRIPTION:Word Central Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word. \nTuesday 25th March\, 6.00pm – 7.45pm \nDoors open 5.40pm and free entry. \nHosted by Tony Curry with special guest Lateral G. \nBook your open mic slot from noon on Tuesday 11th March via mail@flapjackpress.co.uk. \nN.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer – it is essential that you stay within this timeframe. \nPerformance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking time. If they are already filled you will be offered a place on the reserve list. \nPolitical\, quirky and authentic\, our special guest Lateral G tells stories of life from her downwardly mobile perspective\, with wry observations on society\, ageing\, and the general impossibility of living well in a capitalist system. It’s an engaging combination of serious stuff\, with an amusing performance. A nomadic traveller\, she lives on the road and has recently returned from a solo winter in southern Europe for a spring and summer of poetry events\, festivals and slams all over the North and as far south as the Midlands.
