Word Central Open Mic Night
Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word Hosted by Tony Curry
Presented by Flapjack Press & Manchester Libraries
With special guest John Darwin
John writes from the heart about the mystery of relationships, the piquancy of location, and the pleasure of escaping from day-to-day drudgery. He was the host of Write Out Loud’s poetry night in Sale for two years, a member of the acclaimed national touring troupe A Firm of Poets for a couple more, and co-host at Spoken Weird in Halifax. John now curates Crooked Poets in North Manchester and his solo poetry show Happy Hour won the Best Spoken Word Performance award at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival 2021. His new collection, Ultrasilence, was published by Flapjack Press in October 2022.
