Untold Stories of the Village

In partnership with The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre and Education Trust, Holding Her Space presents ‘Untold Stories of the Village’ exhibition.

Working with photographer Tanya Weekes and artist Tina Ramos Ekongo, the exhibition follows 12 mothers as they share their stories within pregnancy, birth, postpartum as well as highlighting personal and cultural experiences.

The exhibition is part of a wider project created by Holding Her Space and supported by The National Lottery Heritage fund.  The project has been curated to focus in on the heart wrenching journeys of Black and Brown parents as they navigate the unforgiving realities of maternity in the modern UK; whilst aiming to preserve the cultural and traditional practices from these communities.
