Join us for our monthly Hispanic Film Club at Central Library, in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes, celebrating Hispanic cinema with a diverse line-up of films that explore resilience, identity and humanity.
This month’s film synopsis: A chronicle of the life and career of the first black guest dancer in London for the Royal Ballet – Carlos Acosta, nicknamed Yuli. As a child Yuli avoids discipline and education, learning from the streets of an impoverished and abandoned Havana. His father, however, has other ideas, and knowing that his son has a natural talent for dance, sends him to the National Ballet School of Cuba.
Suitable for ages: 15+. Under 18s remain the responsibility of their parent / guardian at all times.
