By Tram
The Central Library is located right next to the St Peter’s Square Metrolink tram stop.

By Bus
The nearest bus stops are located in Piccadilly Gardens and on Portland Street, Albert Square, which are all a 5 minute walk from the Central Library, or Oxford Road which is a 10 minute walk.
By Train
The Central Library is a 10 minute walk away from Manchester Oxford Road station, or can be reached easily from either Piccadilly or Victoria stations by taking the Metrolink tram to St Peter’s Square. You can also take a free Metroshuttle bus from both stations which stop near the Library. Visitors travelling from Salford Central can catch the 50 bus which stops outside the Town Hall, or alternatively catch the free Metroshuttle.

By Car
Follow signs to the city centre. Car parking is available at NCP car parks on Chepstow Street, Faulkner Street, Sackville Street, Manchester Central and the Great Northern – all are approximately 5 – 10 minutes walk from the library. The nearest disabled parking is on Central Street right behind the Library, Princess Street or Fountain Street, approximately 100 metres away.
By Bicycle
A number of bicycle racks are located beside the library on St Peter’s Square and Peter Street.
