RNCM presents… At Henry Watson Music Library
RNCM presents… At the Henry Watson Music Library is a brand new series of concerts for 2026.
Taking place in the historic music library of Central Library, these concerts will introduce audiences to the talented roster of musicians currently studying at the esteemed music College.
From soloists to singer-songwriters, classical to pop, this lunchtime series promises to showcase some of the most sumptuous sounds and skilled musicians emerging from the RNCM right now.
With each edition spotlighting a different musician from the College, the inaugural session will feature two performances from aspiring stars:
– Oscar Brown – who will be singing and playing the piano.
– Tay Rain – emerging singer-songwriter, who will be accompanied by Luke Pemberton on piano.

Tay Rain is a Manchester-based pop artist. Her unique, modern sound blends
heart-led storytelling with urban jazz and R&B influences. Having had music as
an emotional outlet since a young age, Tay’s performances are about creating
a connective atmosphere with an audience through her music. Her debut EP
which touches on relationships, self-love and growth through adolescence
remains unreleased, however the project is gaining momentum behind the
scenes and can be caught in snippets live, so watch this space!
Oscar Brown is a 19 year old singer songwriter from St Ives, Cornwall who is currently studying at the RNCM, Manchester. Some of the highlights of his career so far has been: playing at Glastonbury 2023 and 2025 at the age of 16 and 18, playing at the royal Albert hall in the final of the future makers 2025 competition and playing at Boardmasters festival 2023. He continues to perform lots live around Manchester and has just released his new single “Take it slow” on Apple Music and Spotify.
